2013 NYGeoCon Lands Jack Levis as a Keynote!
Jack Levis a.k.a. the “UPS Man” has agreed to keynote this year’s NYGeoCon in Saratoga Springs on November 12th and 13th. Don’t remember who Jack is? Remember the “Geospatial Revolution” series? Perhaps, this will help!
Jack serves as the Senior Director of Process Management for UPS. Under Jack’s direction, UPS has completed integration of multiple operations systems. These systems ultimately synchronize the flow of data throughout UPS, allowing the seamless movement of goods, funds and information. UPS has been able to take geospatial technology and fully integrate it into UPS’s workflow saving them both time and money and improving their overall quality of service. This has helped UPS “move from a trucking company that has technology to a technology company that happens to have trucks.”
Mark your calendars now (Nov. 12 & 13) and learn how this was accomplished! Perhaps, you might adopt this winning process in your work!
Jack was on NOVA!
On Oct 16, 2013 Jack Levis, appeared on it for almost 8 minutes talking about how UPS used technology to solve their local UPS delivery issues , episode. Jack first appears at 24:35 and is in fairly constant dialog with host David Pogue, NY Times tech writer and now NOVA host from there on.
The fun begins when David tries to “beat” the technology solution with his own delivery system. Not only is it a humorous to watch, but it also gets the message across of the benefits of integrating the technology fully into the business solution.
